Description:  Mr. Levin sent his 2 members from the largest roster of E8's along with his passenger cars Warrior Ridge, Little Juniata Rapids, & Pennsylvania 130. Both E's were rebuilt by Amtrak in 1975 with 645 power assemblies, D77 traction motors, updated wiring, dynamic brakes, a 26L brake schedule & HEP to make them as similar to an F40PH as possible. They are still 70' 3" long, 10' 7-1/2" wide & 14' 7" tall (without trainphone antenna)

This locomotive was built in February 1951 (c/n 13106) on EMD Order 6181A. I failed to note which train this was. Based on the June 1965 edition of The Official Guide, this might be either Train # 48, The General, or Train # 28, The Broadway Limited. The General was due at Englewood at 3:28 PM and The Broadway Limited was due at 4:13 PM.

Description:  Winter Day. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train in Altoona, Pennsylvania, during February of 1966. Shown here (R to L) are PRR engine #5886 and two other units whose numbers are not recorded. All were built by EMD. #5886 is an EP-22 built in 1950 and rated at 2,250 horsepower. They are about to pass under the 4th Street Bridge with a passenger train bound for Harrisburg, Philadelphia, and New York City. Partially visible in the background is the 7th Street Bridge.
